Historical USDA watercolour of the American Summer Pearmain Apple apple, painted 1860

American Summer Pearmain is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in US (before 1817). It was grown primarily for eating. Greenish yellow with red overcolour. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study (1860), painted by Amanda Almira Newton, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
