Historical USDA watercolour of the Austin Sweet Apple apple, painted c.1886–1942

Austin Sweet is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in Pennsylvania, US (before 1875). It was grown primarily for eating. Flesh white, juicy, sweet, very good. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study, painted by M. Strange, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
