Banks Apple

Banks is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in Nova Scotia (1880). It was grown primarily for eating, cooking, pie. A red sport from Gravenstein. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study (1860), painted by Amanda Almira Newton, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
