Cullasaga Apple

Historical USDA watercolour of the Cullasaga Apple apple, painted 1860

Cullasaga is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in North Carolina, US (before 1858). It was grown primarily for eating. Flesh yellow, tender, juicy, sweet flavor. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study (1860), painted by Amanda Almira Newton, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
