Daniel is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in Indiana, US (before 1850). It was grown primarily for eating. A delightful dessert apple. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with 2 watercolour studies (1840–1875), painted by Deborah Griscom Passmore and Royal Charles b. Steadman, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
