Early Joe is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in New York US (before 1843). It was grown primarily for eating. Width 61 mm, height 46 mm. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with 3 watercolour studies (1840), painted by M. Strange and Bertha Heiges, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
