Edwards is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in North Carolina, US (before 1869). It was grown primarily for eating. A greenish yellow apple, lightly striped with red. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study (1860), painted by Amanda Almira Newton, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
