English Russet Apple
English Russet is a heritage apple cultivar dating to before 1870. It was grown primarily for eating. Width 69 mm, height 62 mm. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study (1840), painted by Deborah Griscom Passmore, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
