Lady Henniker Apple

Historical USDA watercolour of the Lady Henniker Apple apple, painted c.1886–1942

Lady Henniker is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in Thornham Hill, Suffolk, England (1840–1850). It was grown primarily for eating, cooking. Large, oblong, ribbed. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study, painted by Bertha Heiges, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
