Lancaster Greening is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in Pennsylvania, US (before 1870). It was grown primarily for eating. A green apple with russet. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study (1840), painted by Deborah Griscom Passmore, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
