Margil Apple
Margil is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in England (before 1750). It was grown primarily for eating. Highly flavoured apple held in very high esteem by connoisseurs. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study (1860), painted by Amanda Almira Newton, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
