May Queen Apple
May Queen is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in Worcester, England (1888). It was grown primarily for eating. Large, oblate, often russetted yellow apple with bright red blush and stripes. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with 2 watercolour studies (1840–1875), painted by Deborah Griscom Passmore and Royal Charles b. Steadman, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
