Salome Apple
Salome is a hardy winter apple raised in Illinois in the mid-nineteenth century. Medium-sized and red-striped over yellow, it is a mild, juicy keeping apple that holds in storage well into spring, and the tree bears young and reliably. Its dependability as a cold-climate market apple is why it appears in the USDA watercolours.
