Sharon is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in Iowa, US (introduced 1922). It was grown primarily for eating. P McIntosh x Longfield. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study (1873), painted by L.C.C. (Louis Charles Christopher) Krieger, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
