Starkey is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in Maine, US (before 1875). It was grown primarily for eating. Stalk is medium-length. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study (1840), painted by Deborah Griscom Passmore, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
