Sweet Russet is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in US (before 1850). It was grown primarily for baking. Width 74 mm, height 62 mm. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study (1840), painted by Deborah Griscom Passmore, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
