Switzer Apple

Switzer is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in Russia (before 1870). It was grown primarily for cooking, eating. Flesh is white, juicy, subacid, good. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study (1873), painted by Mary Daisy Arnold, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
