Tufts Apple
Tufts is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in Wisconsin, US (1855). It was grown primarily for eating. Flesh is crisp, mild subacid, fair to good. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study, painted by Bertha Heiges, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
