Virginia Greening Apple
Virginia Greening is a heritage apple cultivar that originated in Virginia (before 1835). It was grown primarily for cooking. Width 88 mm, height 65 mm. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study (1840), painted by Deborah Griscom Passmore, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
