Winter Banana Apple
Winter Banana originated on David Flory's farm in Cass County, Indiana, around 1876. A large, pale-yellow apple blushed with pink, it is named for a distinctive banana-like aroma and mild, tangy flavour. Attractive and aromatic rather than long-keeping, it found a niche as a fancy market and pollinator variety, and was documented by the USDA among the era's notable introductions.
