Clairgeau Pear
Clairgeau is a heritage pear cultivar that originated in Nantes, France (c.1830, introduced 1851). It was grown primarily for eating. Tree is healthy and productive. Excellent dessert quality. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with 5 watercolour studies (1840–1875), painted by Mary Daisy Arnold and Amanda Almira Newton, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
