Pineapple is a heritage pear cultivar from United States. It was grown primarily for eating. An interspecific P. communis × P. pyrifolia hybrid. Hardy in zone 8–9. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented it with a watercolour study (1875), painted by Royal Charles b. Steadman, as official botanical identification records made before colour photography.
